The Sorting Network

Teaching the Sorting Network via distance learning.

To help you deliver 123Tech remotely, here is a quick video demonstrating an adaptation of The Sorting Network which is usually done as an activity with a team of 6

The Sorting network is a fun game that teaches computational thinking.  In this case a way to sort data, any data at all, whether it is numbers, letters of the alphabet, days of the week or anything that has an order.

We have a template (linked below) that you can use either online with 6 students accessing it, or you can use it as an individual activity

Resources for this activity:

To run the activity you will need to also use the Sorting Network Template free to download in Google Drawings format.

The original 123Tech Sorting Network resource for this activity will also give you more information on the background of this activity

Dont forget that you can register your Discovery Level students for the 123Tech Challenge free of charge and doing so means once they complete this and the other activities in the challenge they will be awarded a 123Tech Certificate.  To find out more about 123Tech and the Discovery Challenge, please click here
